Not every puncture means a new tyre. Under British Standard BS AU159, a car tyre can usually be repaired if the damage is in the central part of the tread and the hole is no larger than 6mm. Our technician checks the tyre inside and out before recommending anything, and we will always repair it if it is safe to do so.

When we can repair your tyre

A nail, screw or small object in the main tread area
Damage of 6mm or less
No damage to the inside of the tyre from being driven flat
Enough legal tread depth left (1.6mm minimum)

When a tyre replacement is the safer choice

Damage in the sidewall or shoulder of the tyre
Cuts, bulges or splits in the rubber
The tyre was driven on while flat
Tread close to or below the legal limit
Run-flat tyres that have lost pressure (most makers advise replacing these)

My 40 to 50 minite wait was not met but not their fault as westbound A14 was closed.  They did keep me updated on their delay and were great when got to me.
