Not every puncture causes an immediate flat tyre. In many cases, small punctures cause slow air leaks that gradually reduce tyre pressure over time.
Ignoring these warning signs can lead to further tyre damage and eventually make repair impossible.
Drivers should arrange professional puncture repair if they notice:
If these signs appear, early repair can often save the tyre and prevent full replacement costs.
A puncture does not always mean a tyre needs replacing.
Many tyres can be safely repaired if the damage is limited to the tread area and has not affected the tyre sidewall or structural integrity.
Before carrying out any repair, our technicians perform a detailed inspection to check whether the tyre qualifies for safe puncture repair.
We carefully examine:
✔ Size and location of puncture damage
✔ Internal tyre condition assessment
✔ Sidewall damage inspection
✔ Air pressure testing
✔ Tread depth condition check
✔ Structural safety evaluation
If the puncture meets repair safety standards, we carry out professional repair immediately at your location.
If repair is unsafe, we advise replacement options.
Your safety always comes first.
Roadside string plugs and sealant cans are designed to get you moving, not to be a permanent fix. A string plug pushed in from the outside does not seal the inner lining, so moisture can reach the steel belts. Sealant coats the inside of the tyre and can make damage harder to see.
A proper repair under BS AU 159 is carried out with the tyre off the wheel, using a combination plug and patch fitted from the inside. It seals the hole and the inner liner together. If you have used a sealant kit, tell our technician so the tyre can be cleaned and assessed.
Can’t get the wheel off because the key is missing? Our locking wheel nut removal service is part of the same callout. If the tyre is completely flat and you need help now, call our emergency tyre fitting line.

Amazing service! My tyre got slashed, and I had tried for over an hour to get through to the RAC and AA but they wouldn’t come out to me without a membership, and all their membership lines were closed. Tyrex were available, easy, fast and friendly services. From the initial call, to fitting and payment, the job was done in less than 45 minutes and I was home within the hour. Thank you for saving my day!Posted on Google![]()

Poor communication with another tyre firm (who promised to be with me in 1.5 hours and weren't) led me to call these guys. My 40 to 50 minite wait was not met but not their fault as westbound A14 was closed. They did keep me updated on their delay and were great when got to me. Was worried about having to pay £60 upfront but checked them out on trustpilot.Posted on Google![]()
