Emergency Mobile Tyre Fitters Day or Night

Tyres rarely fail at a convenient time. It might be a nail picked up on the A14 on the way home, a kerb strike on the school run, or a tyre that has gone flat overnight on the driveway. When the car is not safe to drive, you need a tyre fitter who comes to you, not a garage appointment two days away.

Tyrex Mobile Tyre Fitting Ltd runs a 24 hour mobile tyre fitting service across Suffolk and north Essex, including weekends and bank holidays. You call one number, speak to a person, and a technician is sent out with the right tyre for your car. There is no membership to join and no waiting for a breakdown patrol that may only fit your spare.

Every van carries a tyre changing machine, a wheel balancer, new valves, a calibrated torque wrench and a stock of popular sizes in budget, mid-range and premium brands. Most emergency jobs are finished in a single visit, usually within an hour of the technician arriving.

When the technician arrives, the van is parked to shield the work area and the car is jacked up on firm ground. The damaged tyre is inspected inside and out, and you are told straight away whether it can be repaired or needs replacing. Nothing is fitted until you have agreed the price.

Not sure whether you need a new tyre? Tell us what you can see. A nail in the tread may only need our mobile puncture repair service, while a cut sidewall or a blowout needs a mobile tyre replacement. Either way, the price is agreed on the phone first, and it all comes from the same local mobile tyre fitting team.

Emergency Tyre Help Wherever You Are

Our mobile tyre fitters work wherever the vehicle can be reached safely. Typical callouts include:

  • Driveways and residential streets
  • Workplace, retail park and supermarket car parks
  • Hotel, station and hospital car parks
  • Lay-bys and safe verges off the A12, A14, A120 and A140
  • Business premises and fleet depots

We cover Ipswich, Colchester, Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Hadleigh, Manningtree, Clacton-on-Sea and the villages in between. See local details on our Ipswich and Colchester pages, or call with your postcode to check current availability.

If you are stopped on a motorway or a road with no safe place to stand, leave the car by the left-hand doors, wait behind the barrier and call 999 if you feel at risk. We attend once the vehicle is in a safe position. Our roadside tyre emergency guide explains who to call and what to have ready.

Why You Should Not Drive on a Flat Tyre

Limping to the nearest garage is the most common mistake we see. A tyre without air collapses, and every turn of the wheel crushes the sidewall against the rim. A puncture that could have been repaired often becomes a new tyre, and in worse cases a bent alloy, damaged suspension or a tyre pressure sensor that needs replacing.

A flat tyre also changes how the car steers and brakes. A front flat pulls the steering to one side, and a rear flat can make the back of the car feel loose, especially on bends or in the rain.

The cost adds up quickly. A repairable puncture is a small bill, but a refurbished or replacement alloy wheel, a new tyre pressure sensor and suspension parts can cost many times more. Waiting 30 to 45 minutes for a mobile fitter is almost always the cheaper option.

The safer choice is to stop, switch on your hazard lights and call an emergency tyre fitter. Our guide on whether you can drive on a flat tyre explains the risks in more detail.

No Spare Wheel or Lost Locking Nut Key?

Many emergency calls come from drivers who could change the wheel themselves but cannot get it off. The locking nut key is missing, the adapter has snapped, or the car came with a sealant kit and no spare. We deal with all of these on the same visit:

  • Locking wheel nut removal without damaging the alloy
  • Puncture repair where the damage meets British Standard BS AU 159
  • New tyres supplied and fitted when a repair is not safe
  • Wheel balancing and pressure checks on every fitted tyre
  • Removal and responsible disposal of the old tyre

Fleet operators and local businesses can also call us for priority callouts on company cars and vans, so vehicles spend less time off the road.

Amazing service! My tyre got slashed, and I had tried for over an hour to get through to the RAC and AA but they wouldn’t come out to me without a membership, and all their membership lines were closed. Tyrex were available, easy, fast and friendly services. From the initial call, to fitting and payment, the job was done in less than 45 minutes and I was home within the hour. Thank you for saving my day!

Poor communication with another tyre firm (who promised to be with me in 1.5 hours and weren't) led me to call these guys. My 40 to 50 minite wait was not met but not their fault as westbound A14 was closed. They did keep me updated on their delay and were great when got to me. Was worried about having to pay £60 upfront but checked them out on trustpilot.

FAQ

Emergency Tyre Fitting FAQs

Everything you need to know about our mobile tyre fitting service.
How much does emergency tyre fitting cost?

The cost depends on your tyre size, the brand you choose and how many tyres need replacing. Call us or send your tyre size on WhatsApp and we will give you a fixed price before we travel. The quote includes fitting, a new valve, wheel balancing and disposal of the old tyre. Night and bank holiday jobs are quoted the same way, so you know the full price before we set off.

For emergency callouts we aim to arrive within 30 to 45 minutes. The exact time depends on traffic, weather and where you are, and we send updates while the technician is on the way.

You can call a 24 hour mobile tyre fitter directly. No membership is needed, and we repair or replace the tyre on the spot instead of towing the car to a garage.

Yes. Tyrex works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays, across Suffolk and north Essex.

No. Working on a live carriageway or hard shoulder is not safe for you or our technician. Call 999 if you are in danger. Once the vehicle is in a safe place, such as a services car park or a lay-by away from traffic, we can attend.

Your exact location or postcode, the vehicle registration, your tyre size if you can find it, how many tyres are affected and whether you have a locking wheel nut key. A photo of the damage helps us bring the right tyre.

For roadside callouts, yes. If the car is parked at home or work, let us know how we can reach it, hand over the keys if needed and leave the locking wheel nut key where the technician can find it.

Yes. Our technicians use the same type of tyre changing machine and wheel balancer as a tyre centre, and every wheel is torqued to the manufacturer’s setting before we leave.

Yes. If you already have tyres, we can fit them at your location. Tell us the size and brand when you book.

Yes. We fit tyres on cars, vans and SUVs, and we look after company vehicles and small fleets with priority callouts.

We always check first. If the damage is a nail or screw in the central tread and meets British Standard BS AU 159, we repair it, which costs less than a new tyre.
